In February of 2011, I commissioned four playwrights to write short plays using Washington Irving’s classic short story “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” as a source text. No other rules or parameters than to use that story as a springboard into a new story.

I also approached a local Chicago musician, Sad Brad Smith, about writing some original music for the show. Happily he agreed to lend his talents to this project as well. (Go here: www.sadbradsmith.com! Buy his music! He’s great!)

And so tonight you’ll be hearing some new music and seeing five brand-new world premiere plays from some really wonderful writers. The cast and I have had a wonderful time bringing these plays to life onstage and we hope that you enjoy them as well.
